William (Doug)'s Story

Nobody knew me as William. I was Doug or Obee. After high school I went to Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tn. In 1955 Barbara (Duke) and I were married on August 25. We have had a good life, and was blessed with a daughter and son. We now have two grandchildren that live just a few miles from us. I have been the pastor of baptist churches in Tennessee and Ala...Expand for more
bama since 1960. we presently live in Hueytown, Alabama and I am the senior pastor of North Highlands Baptist Church. I have served this congregation since 1978. Mr. Gruber, our principal at Howard, would never believe that I was the pastor of a church. I served in the U S Marine Corp reserve unit in Nashville for eight years. I am one happy rebel camper. and life has been good.
